CME (Composite Materials Engineering) is a specialist composites business. All of our products are manufactured in Australia, at our headquarters in Melbourne. We formulate, manufacture and compression mould long glass fibre composite materials. Our philosophy is to be the leader in composite materials and to develop the technology to ensure our customer receives the most up to date technology available.
At CME we manufacture our own raw materials and tailor our sheet moulding compounds (SMC) and bulk moulding compounds (BMC), to meet the specific property requirements of each part manufactured. By controlling this process in house, we are able to vary fibreglass content as well as the levels of other essential raw materials to guarantee an ideal solution for the intended application. What’s more, because we do it all from one location, we can respond quickly to any changes in customer requirements.
Product Development & Design
CME operates various CAD programs to suit the many industries we deal with. This ensures all of the benefits of using composite materials are achieved when designing a new part for compression moulding as well as other moulding techniques. We work closely with our customers to ensure the best performance and cost is achieved to take your product to market.
CME design our tools using CAD program Solidworks. We design our tools in collaboration with our customers and work closely with our tool suppliers both nationally and internationally. During this process we ensure the customer is 100% satisfied with how their product will perform and look once manufactured. This process allows CME to gain our customers confidence that their product will be superior in the marketplace.
CME use our team of specialist composite engineers to manage the whole process from beginning to end. Our state of the art manufacturing facilities, material production and design expertise means we are able to take an idea to reality. We pride ourselves on being able to offer a solution from the enquiry stage, right through to the commercialization and supply of the finished product.
